Got the bike out for a quick ride. MN winter?

It was 35 yesterday and the alley was still snow and ice. I had too... I got the bike out pushed it through the snow, puddles, and ice for a quick cruz around the hood. Just feels nice to get on the bike at least once a month in the winter. Man, if this sort of winter keeps up, many of my friends will be happy to ride soon enough.

searching for starter ghost

Pulled out this starter to see what was making the slipping / grinding noise. Everything was taken apart and looked at carefully, but nothing sketchy was found. All the the starters teeth were fine, a.k.a no cavities found, onto the solenoid for testing. I'm going in blind any help is good help.

    Last night I started digging into my Shovelhead because I have no loot to get parts right now. I figured that I could get some smaller things out of the way: oil tank, battery box, and the starter that grinds so I can get it rebuilt. I will update as I go.

Merry Christmas 2011

Today it was 42 degrees outside on Christmas, my birthday too, and I got the bike out for a bit. Ice and snow still in spots, so watch out. Took some shots of St. Paul MN and then headed up to smokeshop to meet some friends.. look at this Opus X and scotch.. HOLY... Best Christmas in MN ever..!!! Then I got home to a hand carved pipe..today was a good day.

Thanks for giving us 1 more day..

O.k. today was one of the best Thanksgivings I've had in years.. thanks to my friend Doom and New Kevin. They showed up at my place today for one of the last rides in MN before winter. Last week there was snow and cold, then today was epic and 57 out.. Happy Thanksgiving!!! right? We rode all over with less cars on the roads and NO COPS.... It was fucking sick.. Took some shots with my phone when we got back to the shop.. Thankswheelie to all...

At Least One More Ride...

Searching for ideas cause I'm out of loot.

I have been searchin' out different ways to make my new Shovelhead project a worthy one. Stole theses pics from different places just to find some different ideas. I think I will try out the 3 1/2 tanks to see what it looks like first because everyone puts Sportster tanks on to thin it up. If anyone has any other ideas of photos of good lookin' swingarm bikes send them too me..

Bike wasn't charging so I figured it needed a new stator/ rotor. The old rotor seemed  to still have a good magnetic field still, but out with the Lucas and in with the Sparx. THIS SHOULD BE IT!
